An increasing number of novel therapeutic compounds under development exhibit challenging physical, chemical, biopharmaceutical or pharmacokinetic properties, such as

Depending on the severity of the problems, special formulation strategies - possibly involving advanced drug delivery technologies - must be developed to achieve acceptable product performance.
